To get to the trail head we went from route 100 in Stowe to route 108 (Mountain Road). The parking lot is on the right hand side of the road. From the parking lots is a wooden trail through some wet land that will lead back to the road which you cross to start up the mountain. There was snow on Mount Mansfield, the trail was pretty wet and muddy and we eventually ran in to snow. We only went as far as Taft Loge and then turned back. The long trail is marked with white blaze.
